Project N ~like nature, but better !
taking a naturalised garden and pond, and by moving the water, structuring the space by adding steps and low hedging, PB Landscapes have improved on what Mother Nature provided.

The original site, meadow-like grass with an old pond close to the house.

The pond is drained and any wildlife or plantlife saved.
The plot is marked out and the old pond filled in.
The Heavy machinery moves in to level the site, and add top soil. Beds are marked out and the planting starts to go in.
A renewed surface, level and smooth ready for turfing.
Meanwhile, further down the garden, the site of the new pond is dug out and the liner goes down. The new paved area starts to take shape.
The paved area is cut to a smooth arch, to reflect the curved shape of the pond. The stones and plants are all placed carefully by hand. A brick stepping stone goes in.
To draw a line between the new lawns and the more naturalised pond area a set of stone steps is constructed, with a small water feature. again to echo the shape of the pond and paving area, the steps form a shallow curve.
To the side of the garden a circular raised bed in brick, matching the house, is built. Either side of that raised beds for a kitchen garden are built in wood. This area is finished with a fine gravel.
The new turf goes down.
