PB Landscapes of Melbourne

A desperate plea came from this client - their large Koi pond has begun to leak and they risked losing their stock of valuable fish. PB Landscapes sprung into action, first of all transferring all the fish to safe holding tanks, before draining, cleaning and reling the pond ready to be re-stocked with the fish.
Our experience in handling water features of this size gave us the technical ability to do this quickly, with little or no disruption to the wildlife.

Once the pond had been relined and the koi settled in their new home we left them for a few months to allow everything to settle. We then returned to landscape the area around the pond. On a sloping site, we added new levels with oak sleepers, creating flat areas for ease of mowning as well as areas suitable for sitting, watching the koi, enjoying the natural environment.
A beach area was left, to on side of the pond, as a design feature as well as an area for wildlife to access the water. The filtration system and a pump for a small waterfall was housed within a stone built housing. Large stone and rocks suround the pond, adding to the sense of naturalisation and to anchor the design into the landscape. The stones were echoed elsewhere in the surrounding garden design.
	When we revisited the site later that year, the native plants were in full flower and the full beauty of the naturalised koi pond could be fully appreciated.
