PB Landscapes of Melbourne
Project D ~ a larger sized back garden sloping up and away from the house was transformed by building a low retaining wall and feature steps up to a raised lawn area and planted beds. The views from the house were framed by a series of 'lollipop' topiary trees creating a path for the eye to travel towards to low scented hedge of lavenders.
The building of the low wall created a defined seating area close to the house, as well as removing the slope as making a level lawned area. Finally, the planting of shrubs created a low maintenance garden for a young family to enjoy.
We revisited the project 12 months on, the family found that they did not utilise the shaded seating area at the rear of the garden and they requested that it be transformed into an area more suitable for their growing children. A bespoke pergola constructed on site out of green oak, with swings fitted on one side was built over a new patio area ... everyone was happy!
