Japanese Woodland Water Garden - The Spring Lake
To the rear of the newly built dojo was a natural spring. To work with this occurrence of nature rather than to the fight against it we have incorporated it into the design.
Using the diggers, we dug out a small area around the spring to form a spring fed lake. We then dug a channel to take the water run-off from this lake, down a stream into the lake in front of the dojo.
Lining the edge of this spring lake with rocks and small boulders and leading the rocks down by the stream to the edge of the lake ties the whole design together and creates a feature next to the dojo complementing the views.
